The Section 8 waiting list will open January 5, 2015 through January 19, 2015.  When we reopen our waiting list, you will be able to apply for housing by clicking the link below to complete an online application.

Applicants needing internet access to complete a application may utilize computers at all Sarasota County libraries during their normal hours of operation.

Those unable to apply online may request a paper application in writing by mail to: HCV Application, 269 S. Osprey Ave, Suite #100, Sarasota, FL  34236.  Please be advised that we will not accept any requests for paper applications unless they are received by mail only.  After SHA receives your request for a paper application in writing, a paper application will be mailed to you.  Completed paper applications must be returned by mail and postmarked no later than Monday, January 19, 2015.  Applications that are postmarked after January 19, 2015 will not be accepted.

Once all applications have been received, SHA will use a lottery to randomly select 750 applicants for the actual waiting list for the HCV Program.   If you are selected at random to be on the waiting list, you will receive a letter from SHA notifying you of your placement on the waiting list within 6 weeks of the submission deadline.  Please make sure that your mailing address and phone number are accurate when applying online.  Individuals needing further information may contact SHA at 941-202-4032.
