SHA Board of Commissioners

Currently Sarasota Housing Authority is under a HUD receivership during which a single HUD Receiver acts as the Board of Commissioners for SHA. Justin Ormsby currently serves as HUD Receiver. When Justin is not in Sarasota he is directing HUD's Fort Worth Office of Public Housing overseeing programs and staff in three states.

On June 2, 2008 the Mayor of the City of Sarasota, Lou Ann Palmer, nominated seven names to serve as SHA's new commissioners. All seven were confirmed unanimously by the Sarasota City Commission. On Wednesday, July 9, 2008, HUD will officially hand over the governance of SHA to this new seven member board which will resume normal, local control. SHA's new Board of Commissioners are:
