SARASOTA HOUSING AUTHORITYSarasota Housing Authority (SHA) introduces the C.A.R.E.S. program as a way of furthering residents’ career development and job opportunity potential.  C.A.R.E.S. stands for Career Advancement for Resident Economic Self-Self-Sufficiency.  Also known as the Section 3 program, the C.A.R.E.S. program is an opportunity for residents’ to use their skills for short- and long-term job opportunities with SHA and its business partners.

All SHA public housing residents and housing choice voucher program participants eighteen (18) years of age or older are eligible to participate in the C.A.R.E.S. program.  In addition all eligible participants must:

  • Complete a C.A.R.E.S. program application.
  • Have completed the ROSS Center’s Job Skills course.
  • Have no current and/or past history of any legal action with SHA including, but not limited to, current documented eviction, criminal and drug activity and/or trespassing.
