Opening Date & Time: Tuesday, October 13, 2026 – 09:00 a.m.
Closing Date & Time: Wednesday, October 14, 2026 – 09:00 a.m.
Applications should be completed online by going to our website at https://www.sarasotahousing.org/default.aspx. Applications will not be accepted before the opening time or after the closing time. Applicants may use any computer, tablet, or smartphone with internet access.
When applying online, you will need to select the above property or program to complete the application. DUPLICATE APPLICATIONS WILL BE REJECTED, SO PLEASE DO NOT SUBMIT MORE THAN ONE APPLICATION PER PROPERTY/ PROGRAM.
Applicants for the PBV waiting lists and both SHFC properties must apply for the correct bedroom size based on SHA occupancy standards. Applications submitted for the wrong bedroom size will be rejected.
All applications received during the open period will be entered into a random lottery. Placement on the waiting list is determined by lottery, not by time of submission. Only selected applicants will be placed on the waiting list.
Applicants with disabilities who require assistance and are unable to complete the electronic application may request a reasonable accommodation in writing. Requests must be received by our offices no later than Wednesday, October 14, 2026, at 09:00 am and an application will be mailed to them. Please send all written requests to:

Once applications are processed, if you are selected and added to a waitlist you can verify your status and update your contact information in the applicant portal section of the SHA website at www.sarasotahousing.org or in writing to the address above. Please do NOT call to inquire about your application status because no information will be given over the telephone.
